Civil Engineering

Sisemore Weisz & Associates has an experienced and diverse engineering and planning design staff consisting of professional civil engineers, certified planners and computer-aided design technicians. Our design professionals utilize a team approach to understanding each clients' objective to successfully produce integrated, well-conceived working drawings and documents.

SWA's engineering staff has a broad range of experience and expertise including stormwater detention facilities, hydrology analysis, drainage channels and bank stabilization. We also provide engineering design pertaining to water, wastewater and pavement design. In addition to these, SWA specializes in design work in the following areas.

Residential Subdivision planning, platting, and design; includes engineering paving, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, waterline, and grading design. Master planned unit development design, inclusive of mixed-use developments as well as golf course communities are all part of our extensive background. The Villages of Highland Park, Stonewall Estates and several subdivisions within the Battlecreek Master Planned community are a few examples of our work.

Commercial projects include businesses, shopping centers, churches, etc. We regularly provide site planning and site development plans for restaurants, convenience stores, shopping centers and many other types of commercial businesses and light industry.

Campus Projects include planning, facility design and surveying for several medical office parks, educational campuses and public facilities.

 

Land Surveying

Our committed staff of Land Surveyors utilize state-of-the-art equipment to assist in providing timely, efficient, and high-quality surveys. From the initial planning stages to the final completion of construction, we consistently provide our clients with the quality of service they deserve.

By incorporating modern technology in both the field and office we are able to provide our clients with cost effective products and services. Our survey crews utilize the latest in hardware and software allowing us to collect field data and directly enter it into our CAD Design files. The electronic collection and transfer of data ensures both accuracy and timeliness.

The use of Global Positioning System (GPS) technology enables our crews to efficiently survey in terrain where it is not practical to use conventional equipment. This technology also allows SWA to accurately manage the control networks needed for large projects such as highways and other municipal projects.

Utilizing this state-of-the-art technology SWA's land surveying department provides the following:

    Land Planning

    With a professional staff of certified planners, licensed civil engineers and in association with SW Designs, LLC, our licensed landscape architects, Sisemore Weisz & Associates consistently provides creative, cost-effective, and marketable development concepts and solutions for property development purposes. Whether the project is commercial, residential, industrial, institutional, or mixed-use in nature, our experienced staff offers expert advice and guidance throughout the land planning and development process.

    In conjunction with professional land planning services, SWA provides complete zoning assistance and services as follows:

    Preparation and processing of all zoning and land planning applications, including site plan, rezoning, planned unit development, lot split, Board of Adjustment, platting, and related land development applications.

    Project zoning and development presentations to all governing boards, neighborhood groups and other interested parties.

    Consultation with clients on applicable project zoning and subdivision regulation approval requirements.

    In addition to the above SWA routinely prepares feasibility studies that address land use and site engineering concerns and provides anticipated site development and infrastructure costs.

    Employing a teamwork approach to many of the projects we work on, with constant communication and interaction with ourselves, our clients and the approval agencies we work with, SWA consistently completes projects in a timely and professional manner.
